We mainly use material from the Moulin sawmill located 500 m away from our production site to produce a 100% softwood pellet. The Moulin sawmill gets its supplies from the forests located in the Auvergne region and the Rhône-Alpes region. Today, these two forest areas are facing a strong growth in volume, which can be explained by good forestry management of those involved in the wood industry.
All the Moulinvest group team ensures today and tomorrow as well a regular management of the forest heritage so that the actual forests are more productive and of better quality for the future generations.
A few figures :
- Auvergne forest massif = 700,000 hectares of wooded land and nearly 49% of it is coniferous.
- Rhône-Alpes forest massif = 1,500,000 hectares of wooded land and nearly 60% of it is coniferous.
A softwood forest is composed of the following species:
- Sapin.
- Fir.
- Pine.
- Spruce.
- Douglas fir.
